Heal & Conceal

Everybody knows the best way to cover up acne or pimples is to use a concealer. And, the best way to heal it is to use a pimple cream. Now, with some new products in the market, you can conceal and heal that pimple at the same time. Here are a few that caught my eye:

(From left to right)

This concealer has Tea Tree Oil, a natural antiseptic and anti-bacterial pimple healing ingredient. It also has antioxidants to reduce inflammation. Another bonus is that it has Vitamin B Complex to give skin a healthy complexion. It comes in four shades- Clear, Light, Medium and Dark. I love the fact it has a 'Clear' shade.

MURAD Acne Treatment Concealer
This stick concealer not only heals your pimples, it prevents them too. It has an oil-free formula which is good news for those with oily skin. It claims to have long-lasting coverage and leaves skin with a flawless finish. It comes in the usual three shades- Light, Medium and Dark. Of course, Murad being a popular and trusted skincare brand makes this concealer it a little bit special.

TARTE The Eraser Concealer
My favourite thing about this concealer is that it is strictly natural. It provides medium to full coverage. Not only does it heals pimples, it gets rid of dark eye circles. Better still, it has anti-aging properties. It is said to be moisturizing and skin-soothing. What you wouls probably like about this concealer is the fact that it has ten shades. This means it will be easier for you to find the perfect shade for your skintone.

CLINIQUE Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer
This is a medicated liquid concealer that boasts to have a gentle, soothing formula that provides natural-looking coverage. It also has a oil-free formula. It has three shades to match your skin tone and a green one to correct redness. I love that it has a shade in green to correct the redness of your pimples.

Be Cruelty Free!

I've always emphasized the importance of cruelty-free brands, brands that do not test on animals. But, I never knew how to know if a certain brand tests on animals. Now, with the help of Yahoo!Answers, I do. There is a website that lists brands that do and do not test on animals. I was shocked by the list of brands that do test on animals. Many popular brands, that even I use, actually test on animals. I was literally stunned. Now that I've found out that many of the brands I use test on animals, i realize that being cruelty free is easier said that done. But, i have to try for the sake of those cute and fluffy animals.

Here are a few brands that do or do not test on animals:

Johnson & Johnson
Procter & Gamble

Do Not...
Anastasia Beverly Hills
Bare Escentuals
Bath & Body Works

Who wears it better?

The MTV VMA (Video Music Awards) was packed with controversy. From the Kanye and Taylor incident to Lady Gaga's performance, suprises never stopped coming. But, one suprise that was not talked about was when Pink and Shakira arrived at the show in the same dress! So, who wore it better?

I'm sorry Pink but I have to choose Shakira. I just completely love the heels and black leather knee-high socks combo. It looks very edgy and different. I also love that she added in a cute leather black purse. But, I have to give credit to Pink for that cool hairstyle.
What do YOU think?

VMA Red Carpet: Best and Worst Dressed

Today, we'll be talking about the fashion we saw at the MTV VMA (Video Music Awards). They were some really bizzare fashion but some pretty ones too. Here is my best and worst dressed list for the show. Everybody has their opinion, so, you may not agree with me. This list is purely made from my own opinion. Feel free to leave a message stating your opinion. :)

Carolina Herrera Spring 2010 Collection Review

This collection is very sophisticated and classy. Its not really my style but the collection is still interesting to me. The designs were actually quite simple but the details, embellishments or/and prints added in were really unique and cute! It really made the clothes very pretty. The colours used were simple but the colour combinations used were quite interesting. I can't choose one favourite piece but my two favourite pieces from the collection has to be the 1st one from the 1st and 2nd row above.

See the collection:

Zac Posen Spring 2010 Collection

The collection has a few hits and misses. But, overall, it is an amazing and lovely collection. The clothes are quirky and unique but still wearable. And, wearablity is an important factor when it comes to designer clothes. And, the collection gets another point for creativity! The clothes are really different from what you always see. But, it is definitely only for the brave and the bold. And, I do take fashion risks, so I would say this collection is a favourite. The collection also recieves bonus points for the beautiful colours used.

Alexander Wang Spring 2010 Collection Review

I love Alexander Wang but this collection is not a favourite. It still was ok. They were some really cute dresses that I like but overall, it wasn't that interesting to me. But, everybody has a different opinion. I'm sure there are others who liked the collection. I still love Alexander Wang, though! What I did love very much are the shoes! The shoes are really so pretty!!! The hair was interesting too.

Jason Wu Spring 2010 Collection Review

I completely loved it! The clothes were simple yet so cute and funky. Importantly, they were wearable and easy to wear. The colours were also beautiful. There were pinks, purples, yellows, simple grays and so much more. I want so many of those dresses! Did I mention- the shoes were so cute!!! My favourite dress is the polka dotted dress (it is the 3rd one on the 2nd row above).

Fashion Is Taking Over

Hei! To my true fashion lovers out there, I have good news. Fashion is taking over the film industry. Well, I'm actually exaggerating a lot. But, there are two films playing in theatres that are fashion-related. They each revolve around a respective women that is controversial yet important in the fashion industry.

Here are the movies...

~ Coco Before Chanel ~
This movie tells the story of Coco Chanel's rise from obscure beginnings to the heights of the fashion world.
For more information:

~ The September Issue ~
This film tells the story of legendary Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her team of editors creating the September issue of Vogue.

HD Pretty

HD tv has made it easier to see the imperfections of those who appear on tv. Luckily for these people, with the invention of HD tv, comes the invention of HD make-up. HD make-up makes you look flawless, even if you appear on HD tv. But, people like us, who don't appear on tv, can use them too. Here are a few HD make-up lines:

Make Up Forever HD
This is pretty much the line that started the HD make-up craze. Although its famous for its foundation, it has tons of other products in its line too. An example would be the 'HD Elixir'. Its a face primer that doubles as a 'radiant serum'. It is said to be a hybrid between make-up and skincare. Other products in this line include a concealer, powder and face primer that works as a colour corrector also.
For more information:

Smashbox HD
This line may have the smallest amount of product among the three mentioned lines but it shouldn't be overlooked. It offers a foundation, concealer and powder that is cheaper than the previous line. Thus, it is good for those on a slight budget. I really like that the powder comes with its own brush. What is even cooler is that with one product, you could choose to get a matte finish, a radiant glow or even both. Plus, the foundation and powder comes with SPF 15 for some sun protection.
For more information:

Cargo Blu_Ray
This is the only line among the three mentioned ones that include cosmetics other than face products. It includes the usual powder and face primer. But, it also has a mascara, blush and even a lip palette in its line. The face primer doubles as a finishing product to replace the commonly used powder. The blush also doubles as a highlighter.
For more information:

For those who constantly make HD videos to put up on the internet or are about to appear on a reality show on tv, I sincerely hope this helps you to acheive beautiful, flawless skin.

P.S. All lines are available at Sephora...YAY!!!
